Experience this special show when the waterfall freezes only in winter. It takes about 1.5 hours to trek from the parking lot to the base of the falls. Our local guide takes you safely.
- Snowcat ride on the forest road restricted traffic area
This tour is specially permitted to go up to the trailhead by snowcat, though people not in this tour have to reach there on foot. So, you can save a lot of time and enjoy the excursion in a day from Nagano station!

10:30 Meeting with your guide at Nagano Station and transferring to the snowcat parking area. *Stop by restroom on the way. 11:10 Reaching the Yonako Falls Parking Lot (trailhead) by snowcat. *Normally, road is closed during winter. It depends on the weather if you take a snowcat or a regular car. 12:00 Start snowshoe trekking with the guide to reach the inner sanctuary of Yonako Fudo Temple. Along the way, you can watch the frozen splendor of Fudo Falls, a stunning ice cascade, up close! 13:30 Break time (lunch not included) at Nekodake Mountain Lodge. 14:20 Snowshoeing around Okunoin. 15:30 Arrive at Yonako Falls Parking Lot (finish snowshoeing) and go back to Nagano station. 17:00 Arrive at Nagano station. |
